Vs. Morgan (8/20)
The Panthers hosted the Lady Raiders on Thursday at the Mac. Morgan struck first with a goal in the first half of the match to take a 1 – 0 lead. Maysville battled to hold the visitors to one goal while trying to land a shot of their own, but went to halftime still trailing.
Back on the field, the Raiders kept the pressure on the hosts and landed a second goal to increase their lead to 2 – 0. In the last minutes of the game, Maysville pulled out a goal to keep from being shut out, but they could not tie up the game and fell to Morgan 2 – 1.
The Panthers will host St. Clairsville on Saturday; game time is set for 12 PM.
Vs. John Glenn (8/17)
After days of heavy rain, the clouds let up long enough for Maysville to travel out to New Concord on Monday to face the Lil’ Muskies. The game was as equally matched as it could be. John Glenn hit the first goal of the evening, taking a 1 – 0 lead. With just over twenty minutes left in the first half of the game, the Panthers came back to tie the game with a goal by Mailee Valentine, assisted by Kyrie Valentine, setting the score at 1 – 1.
The second half of the game went without a score, ending the game in a draw. Lyndsie Sheppard was in the goal for the Panthers with 9 saves off of 10 shots.
Vs. New Lexington (8/15)
On the road Saturday in New Lexington, the battle of the Panthers was a big win for the Maysville girls with a 6 – 1 victory in the end. Along with the effort of the whole team, the victory was contributed to by Izzy Caplinger with two goals, Khia Green with one goal, Natalie Temple with one goal, Kyrie Valentine with one goal, Annika Winland with one goal, and Kerisa Brown with one assist.
