Vs. West Muskingum (8/18)
On the road on Tuesday, the Black Bears were hoping to recover from the Hiland loss by beating out fellow MVL competitors, the West Muskingum Tornadoes. West got out ahead of the Bears in the first half of the game, gaining a goal while keeping the River View offense from scoring.
The Black Bears came to life in the second half of the game, landing a goal of their own, but the Tornadoes were not slowing down as they piled two more goals on their tally to take a 3 – 1 win.
Jax Lowe had the goal from River View with help from junior teammate Kasen Summers for the assist.
Goalie Zyler Leigh had eight saves in the goal for River View.
River View will play their home-opener against Sheridan on Tuesday, August 25th, at 7 PM.
Vs. Hiland (8/15)
In Berlin on Saturday, the Black Bears took on the Hiland Hawks. The game started off going in the right direction as River View took control of the field, scoring three goals and only allowing one Hiland goal to lead 3 – 1 heading into halftime.
The Hawks flew into action in the second half, shutting down the River View offense while tying up the game and then jumping out ahead with three total goals in the half to win the matchup 4 – 3 with the late-game comeback.
Kasen Summers, Cooper Alverson, and Carson Bryant each had goals for the Bears, while teammates Jack Cohen, Cameron Murphy, and Cash Guilliams each supplied a much-needed assist.
