Vs. Granville (9/17)
In a contested set against the Blue Aces on Thursday at Winland Gymnasium, the Lady Devils took the lead early with a 25 – 15 round one win. The Blue Aces bounced back immediately with a fast 25 – 7 win in round two. In the third round, Zanesville fought hard, but fell behind again to lose the round 25 – 15. The Aces finished off the set with a 25 – 13 win in round four to take the 3 – 1 victory.
Zanesville will face the Lakewood Lancers on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7 PM.
Vs. Mt. Vernon (9/15)
On Tuesday, the Blue Devils hosted the Hornets on their home court. Mt. Vernon started off strong with a 25 – 15 win in round one. Zanesville fell 25 – 14 in round two, and Mt. Vernon took the clean sweep with a round three 25 – 4 win.
Vs. Coshocton (9/14)
Hosting the Redskins on Monday, Zanesville couldn’t find their footing as they took a 25 – 9 loss in round one. The girls fought back in round two but couldn’t surpass Coshocton and lost the round 25 – 13. For the 3 – 0 win, Coshocton took round three 25 – 14.
Vs. Watkins Memorial (9/10)
The Warriors put up a heavy fight on Thursday, taking round one in a quick 25 – 12 win. The Blue Devils fought till the end of the round, just getting edged out by a score of 25 – 22. Winning round three 25 – 18, the Warriors got on the bus back home with a 3 – 0 win.
Vs. Maysville (9/9)
Neighboring Maysville Panthers came to Zanesville High School on Wednesday to play the Blue Devils. The two teams went head-to-head in round one, and ZHS squeezed out a 25 – 21 win. Maysville flipped the tables in round two, winning 25 – 17. The Panthers locked in the win with identical rounds three and four, 25 – 18 wins.
Vs. Newark Catholic (9/8)
After getting off of the bus in Newark, the Lady Blue Devils were hoping to get a win against the Green Wave. Newark Catholic commanded the court from the first whistle with a 25 -18. They kept the momentum going in round two, taking the round 25 – 12. The final round was won by Newark, 25-18.
