A new cafe recently opened at the Zane State College campus, accommodating both college patrons and the general public. Celebrations Campus Cafe offers a wide selection of made-to-order breakfast and lunch menu items, convenient grab-and-go options, and curbside pickup, a welcome campus addition.
Celebrations Campus Cafe worked with Double Shot Espresso to bring fresh, locally roasted coffee and espresso drinks to its customers.
“I’m using Double Shot Espresso, and they’re amazing. They’ve done the consulting, they’ve done the training, they supply all the coffee product. And then I have a very extensive history and food background,” said owner Chef Steve Meredith.

Chef Steve is well known in Zanesville and has catered many events at his alma mater, Zane State College, as well as at several community and private gatherings over his 35 years in the industry. In addition to Celebrations Campus Cafe, Chef Steve specializes in on-site and off-site catering, which he has been doing since 2019.
“We have your classic ham sandwiches. We have chips. We have the hummus wrap. We have the Italian subs. The soups that we have recently are sausage tortellini, creamy potato, and creamy chicken noodle soup,” Chef Steve explained.

Other menu items include blended drinks such as smoothies and frappes, cold brew drinks, dirty sodas, dirty energy beverages, açaí bowls, sandwiches and wraps, salads, egg bites, overnight oats, yogurt parfait, baked goods, and more.
Curbside pickup was just added, making getting your cafe drinks and eats a really smooth and time-saving experience. To use this option, just place your order ahead online and choose curbside service as your pickup option, then head to the designated curbside pickup location marked with flags outside the Campus Center (OUZ side).
Dine-in and take-out are also available. A spacious dining area with views of the campus green is located directly across from the cafe. If time allows, picking up an order and enjoying it outdoors on campus is a great autumn mild-weather option too!

“We’re only open 7 to 4 Monday through Thursday right now. But as business increases, we will increase the hours once we get the public coming in,” added Chef Steve.
A Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce-led ribbon-cutting was held on Thursday, October 29, and was well supported by Zane State faculty, Celebrations Campus Cafe staff, and members of the community.
The business was created as a result of a love for good coffee and a need for an eatery on campus.
“I’m a big coffee guy. I drink a lot of coffee in the morning. I drink a lot of lattes in the evening. And I was looking for a place to get a good latte,” said Chef Steve. “And they had come here, and they were talking about opening a restaurant. I’m like, I just don’t think there’s enough foot traffic here for a restaurant. But then it came to my thought: what if I could get a good latte there? What if I was able to get a latte? I have two daughters, just recently graduated from college. They all drink the lattes and the dirty sodas and the energy drinks. So that’s how it came to happen. I said, ‘Let’s do this! Let’s open up a coffee shop!'”

Celebrations Campus Cafe is open Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They are conveniently located in Zane State College’s Campus Center, at 1555 Newark Road, Zanesville.
