Coshocton Football scrimmaged against Dalton on August 14th, as they prepared to take on a challenging season lineup. New Head Coach Braydon Johns, a Coshocton alumnus, is working with the team to build a new plan, with his sights set on an MVL title and playoff entry.
In a pre-season scrimmage against Dalton, the players were working hard to gel as a team. The first game of the season will be on Friday, August 21st, against the Edison Wildcats, a team that is not in the Redskins usual lineup, so it will be interesting to see how they pair with the Richmond opponents.
They will face Tuscarawas Valley on Friday, August 28th, a team that Coshocton narrowly beat last year by a score of 29 – 23.
One of the big local rivalries will be Friday, September 4th, when the Redskins face the Ridgewood Generals at Stewart Field. Last season, the Generals took them for a huge 31 – 7 ride, and they can’t wait to see how that match plays out this year.
With a new coach at the helm, the Redskins hope to lean into their training and build back a program to rival the 2016-17 season, when they went 12-2 overall.
