Vs. West Muskingum (9/17)
Just over the hill in nearby Tornado Country, the Panthers had their work cut out for them on Thursday as they stepped onto the court. It was a tough battle in round one, with both teams trading possession back and forth, but in the end, the Tornadoes took the round 25 – 18. They blew through the second round, winning 25 – 12. Maysville battled back in the final round, but narrowly lost 25 – 20, giving West M the three-round sweep, 3- 0.
The Panthers will take a short trip to Crooksville on Tuesday to play the Ceramics at 7 PM.
Vs. Coshocton (9/15)
Maysville hosted the Redskins on Tuesday, and from the start of the set, it was clear that the battle would last a while, as Coshocton just got past Maysville with a first-round score of 25 – 21. In round two, they had to stretch the round a bit as the Panthers and Redskins fought down to the wire before Coshocton picked up the 26 – 24 win. The Redskins won the final round 25 – 21 to sweep the set 3 – 0.
Vs. Philo (9/10)
The Panthers were ready for the Lady Electrics in round one at Maysville High School on Thursday as they jumped out to lead the match with a 25 – 20 win. Philo answered back in round two with a 25 – 17 win. Both teams went hard in round three, but in the end the Electrics took the round 25 – 22. Maysville was far from giving up, and they fought down to the last minute when Philo took the round and the match 25 – 21.
Vs. Zanesville (9/9)
On Wednesday in Zanesville, the Blue Devils got out to the lead in round one against Maysville with a 25 – 21 win. Maysville came back in round two with a 25 – 17 win. And they wrapped up the set with a pair of 25 – 18 wins to take the match 3 – 1.
Vs. John Glenn (9/8)
The Lil’ Muskies brought a big game on Tuesday as the Panthers stepped on the court in the Fish Tank with a 25 – 13 win. Although Maysville got to 25 points in round two, the Muskies stayed two steps, or two points, ahead with a 27 – 25 round win. The Muskies finished the clean sweep in round three with a score of 25 – 16.
