Vs. Morgan (9/11)
On Friday night in West Muskingum, the Morgan Raiders were hoping to upset the Tornadoes, but West M had better plans. The Tornadoes’ defense was in full effect and held the Raiders scoreless through the first two quarters while lining up a 14 – 0 advantage before halftime.
The intermission did not allow Morgan to find any cracks in the Tornadoes’ defensive armor as they continued to hit a wall while trying to advance to the end zone. West, however, continued what they started, building a 27 – 0 lead before the end of the third quarter. In the last minutes, with the clock running, West continued scoring, with a final winning score of 44 – 0.
The Tornadoes will host Philo on Friday, September 18th; kickoff is at 7 PM.

Vs. Maysville (9/4)
The Panthers stopped out to West Muskingum on Friday to face the Tornadoes on the football field. Within the first minutes of the first quarter, the Tornadoes blew the ceiling off of the place, starting with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Jake Welch to Myles Wakefield to put the Tornadoes up 7 – 0 after the extra point. Just a few minutes later, Welch finds Bentley Bookless for a 13-yard touchdown to lead 14 – 0 after the PAT. The final touchdown for the first quarter comes at the hands of Cooper McKenzie, who charges 1 yard into the end zone to take a 21 – 0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Just inside the second quarter, Brooks McCune kicked a 24-yard field goal, 24 – 0. Maysville answers back with a touchdown in the second period, but Welch hits Carter Smith for a 32-yard touchdown pass to lead the game 31 – 7 at halftime after McCune’s extra point.
Back on the field, the two teams go head-to-head and stall each other out as the third quarter winds through without a score on either side of the ball. As the fourth quarter starts, West Muskingum finds their groove and blows through two more touchdowns, including a 33-yard pass from Welch to Grady Dollings and a Pick 6 from Kris Johnson, to add another 13 points to their already lofty lead and win the game 44 – 7.
