The Y-Bridge Arts Festival, an annual celebration of the area’s vibrant artist community, returned to Zane State College on July 31 and August 1.
68 Artist booths were set up for the two-day festival, along with a selection of food truck vendors. A wide range of art media were represented both indoors at the college’s Campus Center and outside on the campus green. Musicians Brian Smith, Mike Hawley, Steve Spires Band, ShotGun Sallie, Tongo Rad, Mister Joe, Bird T.V., Elk’s Eye String Band, Dr. Laura Schumann, and KLB & Co. all provided entertainment at various times over the course of Friday and Saturday. A Children’s Art Booth provided by the Zanesville Museum of Art was also on site, offering free art and craft activities like rock painting and tin art both afternoons. GoodCity Creatives also had an interactive art wall (a great photo op) and children’s activities.
An opening ceremony was held on the first day, where several artist awards were presented. Raymond Ramos won Best of Show; first place was awarded to Shirley Perkins, second place went to Dr. Yan Sun, third place was presented to Marc Nichols, and honorable mentions were given to Sally Luburgh, Jessica Rohr, and Bill Bird.
