On Friday, August 14th, the Bishops boys soccer team faced nearby Zanesville Blue Devils in Sulsberger Stadium. For Rosecrans, it was an uphill climb from the start with Zanesville grabbing the first goal of the game, followed by five more before the half was over, sending the Bishops to halftime down 6 – 0.
In the second half of the game, the Bishops defense slowed the Blue Devils a little, and junior Ethan Sandlund scored a goal to avoid a shutout. Zanesville added three more to their tally to take the game 9 – 1.
Sandlund had 8 total shots on the goal for the Bishops. In the goal, senior team captain Dawson Larson had 7 saves for Rosecrans.
The Bishops will be on the field at West Muskingum on Saturday to face the Tornadoes. Game time is set for 7 PM.
